Shalom

I'm thinking of becoming Jewish to avoid all the hype of the Christmas season. Don't get me wrong, I like Christmas itself. Even all the cultural nonsence. But all that leads up to it. All the parties...and... That's it. It's the parties. I don't like Christmas parties.

USC?

USC beat Notre Dame badly and got ranked number two. If they get by UCLA they will play Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl. I don't really want to see another OSU/Micigan game; but that is crap. Michigan is a better team. They pay a tougher schedule. Both teams have one loss. The gods of TV ratings just think they will get a larger viewing group if the championship is not a regional game.

I'll be watching the Big 12 Championship (the Ice Bowl fr Kansas City) from my warm house Sat. That should be a good game. Bob Stoops won Big Twelve coach of the year again. He deserves it. I like his style. He is from Ohio; of course, but that is beside the point... :-)

Thanksgiving

I try to count my blessings every day....REALLY!
OK, here goes...I am thankful for Jesus in my heart and life, my family, peace, health (relatively speaking), work, friends, a home, my pets, and comments on my blog...how's that!

How bout you?

Ohio State.... #1

That's it arguably. The national championship game is over. It was a great game, and Ohio State won. I wonder if the local paper will report anything about it.... :-)

P.S. Leave me a comment.

Luke and I rock....

Unbelievable!!!

The local paper has nothing...except a TV listing, for the Ohio State Michigan game! I'm not kidding. And I'm stunned. That's ridiculous!! Biggest game maybe ever, at a minimum a big game, and not a word. Just OU/Olka State/and the Hogs. Even HS games got a page.

I'm moving....
Al Jazeera English Channel Launch

Well, this will provide an intersting viewpoint! I wonder where it will run, not FOX I suspect. Actually, after the OJ thing, who knows!

WINE by Mark Brazaitis

But the news isn't all bad.
Global warming, the Discovery Channel
informs us, makes certain wines taste better,
which means that in twenty years
we might all be vinters. And if grapes are
all we'll be able to grow (on our roofs,
as the deluge swirls around us), well,
if you had to pick one fruit-or vegtable even-
to live on for the rest of your life,
wouldn't you pick the grape? All right,
so I'll miss apples, oranges, pears, and plums.
I'll miss carrots and cucumbers
and the occasional mouthful of spinich.
But raise your hand if you'll mourn Brussels sprouts.
Our economy will be entirely wine based,
with taxes paid in fluid ounces.
Drunk-driving laws will have to be revised, of course.
And the drinking age will be lowered
to three.
This is a future we should celebrate:
a wine bar in every house,
every house a wine bar!
Lift your glass, let us toast-
to wine!
And again-
and again!
You see: before long, we won't remember
what we're missing.

Angel

Hey Angel! I told you I'd post about you on here! Angel is another friend of mine. We did our first skydive together. That is, separately, on the same day... :-)

She went on to get a pilots license. Now she can pilot the plane and I'll jump...not. I'm done with that. Anyhow, hello Angel.

Here is some game news. Get this. After OSU/Michigan, which decides one of the BCS national championship game contenders, neither of the teams play another game til the championship! That's 51 days. Of course, out here in Big 12 country, they think that sucks. Too bad guys!

Another fun fact. The president of the Univ of Michigan has officially advised students NOT to attend the game in Columbus. He is concerned for their safety! Crazy.

I am really looking forward to the game 1:30 Tulsa time, Sat...Rah.

Buckeyes.....

It's down to next weeks game. We'll hear it all week. This is the first time two Big Ten teams have met in the last season game; both undefeated, and as ranked number one/number two nationally. It should be a great game! They play at Ohio Stadium which favors the Buckeyes. On the other hand, Ohio State has not played a team with a defense like Michigan's.
But I have seen the future!
It will be OSU-24/Michigan-10.

GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Jamie

I found out Jamie has been reading my blog! But she is just not leaving comments. Kind of like most people, right? All 50,000 of them. Or maybe 5. You never know.

Ok, the Dems took Senate and the House. Slim margins in both so this might either lead to a more moderate government, or to gridlock, we'll see.

I turn 50 in about a month! Whoa. I had told everyone I was going to Hawaii! But I am not, so now all I hear is "WHAT! I can't beleive it. You HAVE to do something special!" I just open my big yap too soon, too often. So here is my new list of 50th birthday ideas. Climb Pikes Peak. It's more of a hike, but up to 14,000 feet. Or maybe I'll buy a Harley. I'll definitly go out to dinner with my family. Or maybe I'll do NOTHING! I hope there is not an "Over the Hill" party. Those are funny at 40. At fifty it's alittle closer to the truth. HAHAHA!
