Stay off the streets!!

My 16 yr old got his drivers license. This has me praying for him quite often. Driving takes about an hour to learn, and around five years to master. I was hoping to post his picture in the car but the pictures never got put on the computer. Maybe later.

Curious

I see the Pope of all people is apologizing for offending Muslims.
I' curious, have Muslim leaders ever apologized when they mistakenly offended others?
I can't think of an example. Help me here.

Sean, no, tell me what you really think! :-)

For those of you who don't know Sean; he is my friend, and he is a brain. He does a great blog "Interact" and I am driving him a little crazy with my posts. Anyhow, I agree with him that Oberman is self righteous. I think "pompous ass" is a job requirement for all those guys on TV news. And I agree that the petition is crap, and the "Best War" video is cheesy.

There...But that's not all. So hear me out on this.

I put Oberman on there because he is saying something/anything with force. So much of the media seems softball on this administration. The government has engaged in some dangerous, and illegal activity since 9/11 as well as making some terrible mistakes. I remember hearing after 9/11 that we might win a war on terror, but we might not win a war on tyranny. It truly concerns me.
And the petition on "The Best War" just gets people to take some kind of action. It makes us move from where we usually are, which is the "that is so awful/sad/wrong" passivity to "hey, I don't like the direction we are going, and I'm going to say so to someone significant". The "petition" is signed and sent from you/me to your Congressmen and Senate Representatives.

It's tricky. I want to push people to care and say so...but I'm not that good at it, thus the annoying videos.

BUCKEYES!!!!

The Ohio State flag is flying today out in front of my house! I was impressed with the Bucks. In one word; DEPTH, they've got it.
I really enjoyed the game...esp the win.

Maybe this will be their year........

Now, where did I put my OSU cap?

lonelygirl15

She's a fake!? How disappointing. I thought she was just a teenager that made cute/funny videos. Many hard core Youtubers are upset. That's kind of silly. It will make seeing her videos less interesting if it turns out they were just made up and rehearsed. I'll still watch them though.
I guess they are moving forward with some kind of story line.

More importantly...GO BUCKS!!!!
Should be a good game....

My picture...

Here is a picture of me.
Told you I was the Same As Them!

This is my first effort at a picture...mercy, please.

Institutions vs people

We had a parent teacher conference at the kids school today. The teachers seemed genuinely caring and helpful. I liked them all. At church this past Sunday I really enjoyed seeing some friends I have not talked with in a month or so. People are great...it seems.

However, speaking for myself, the institutions we meet at stink. Schools are too ridged, and churches are just plain weird. Why? All the time, I'm told... it's that they are made up of people!

Then why my personal experience? The people are mostly fine and the organization is not. Could it be something inherent in organizations? That is, something other than the people? Sure, but what? Maybe it's the "other people" :-)
No, it's the inherent nature of organizations, or crowds, or gangs. The group elicits a certain behavior.
Yes, so there is my rambling. I am obviously not a sociologist...however, I still think I'm right.
Can we replace groups? Organizations? Gangs? I think we can. I'll save that for another post.
