Dinner with the guys.

The boys and I went to all you can eat night at Rib Crib.
They are pigs. They got the ribs, and added fries covered with cheese and bacon bits. These are then dipped into ranch dressing! They finished off with racing to see who could finish their desert first...(ice cream).

So, it was memorable...

Who Knew?

Jenny (a.k.a. The Death of Me) won a Presidents Academic Award at her school for art! I'm proud of her, and surprised. I'm embarrassed to say I never saw a strong aptitude with her for art. She is creative, I just didn't see how far it went. She was the only person in her grade to get the award. Cool!
I'll try to scan some of the work she did.

In my defense, she just brought the art work she completed this year home yesterday...so...that's my lame excuse.

Books

Speaking of books I just went out and bought Alice Coopers new one!!

JK...

Seriously, I just bought the Pope's new book! "Jesus of Nazareth" I've never read a book by a Pope, since I'm a protestant, it never occurred to me.
What I checked in the book store looked very interesting. He is not writing as Pope, but as a fellow believer. He invites dialog. He wants to address culture, as well as explain his own walk w/God.

Alice Cooper

Did you hear the interview with Alice Cooper on NPR? I listened to it. He is promoting his new book. Here is a summary:

He said, "Alice Cooper was creative genius! Me, me ,me, me, me, me. I am the greatest rocker of all time! I, I, I, I, I, I. Me, me me, me, me, me, ,me, I, I. Everyone loves me! God worships me! I, me, I me, me!! ME, ME!!"

That was about it. I thought "Common man, you weren't THAT good."
Oh, the book is about golf.

How do you relax?

Here is what I do in a normal day to relax. Of course, It begs the question, "What is a normal day?" Remember, these are activities to relax, they can be fun as well; however, there are more fun things to do than these.

Morning...a comfortable chair, good coffee, reading, and prayer. Sometimes I write, it's mostly nonsense, but it clears the head. Most days...I work out. Not to hard, but not slop. The goal is to get refreshed, not waisted. Later in the day...I like to read a good novel. Or I like naps...about a half hour is best. Up to an hour is OK. Night...a walk...around the block, barefoot whenever weather permits. I like to do that most days. It started when I used to walk the dog. Sometimes someone will join me, but it's usually a loner. And don't forget a glass of red wine in the evening! One is good. Two is acceptable.

What do you do to relax? I know someone is going to say "sex", but that is kind of obvious.
So, any other ideas?

SurceaseAngels

I finally heard Surcease Angels.
The name is from an Egar Allen Poe story? Hmmm.

You Tube

Well, I'm back to having problems posting vids from You Tube. Bummer. The horn fetched about $1400. It was an exciting end to my trumpet ownership. I had probably 50 emails. I had questions about opening international bidding, as well as detail on the horn for those who I think were going to resell it. The winner is a musician in Texas. He is trilled with the instrument. It plays like new even though it is technically an antique. I just stored and maintained it for over 25 yrs. So alls well that ends well. I have some cool vids on YouTube. You'll have to go there to see em. Good luck with that. Come to think of it, they are not that cool, I just like em since they are of my kids!
Sean, at Interact...cool political commentary, dude. Keep up the good work. That's all for now.
