The producer of this documentary was at my kids SCHOOL last week. Although I don't agree with everything they have to say; is an incredible story, and well worth watching. (I sent the website promo to a few friends...maybe you...)

So much for the Escalade...

GB vs NYG and it's going into overtime. What a great game! The temperature on the field is -4. I however, am sitting by the fire (I love a fire on a cold day.) sending a post from my iPhone. The reason? To announce Luke left Surcease. Why? Well, it's complicated. I think it will work out well for Luke. He is working with another band now. They are not as far along as Surcease; but I had reservations about the tour dates out of state. Luke was going to get me an Escalade after they went (Surcease) national. I guess I'll wait on that... :-)

We the People...

I keep hearing Hillary, and or Obama will just govern by the opinion poll. This is supposed to point to some kind of weak leadership style. Think! That is exactly what they should do. It is what the Bush Administration has NOT done. In America the government is supposed to do the bidding of "the people". It's not perfect, but it is the alternative to governing by just listening to a few loud, powerful individuals. If anyone runs on the idea of not listening to "the people", be wary. We are to be a government for the people and by the people.

Late shows and the writers strike.

As we know, as part of a strategy to pressure the studios, the writers did a deal with David Letterman. Leno and Conan, the other major players, had no deal. I usually don't stay up for those shows; however, I decided to take a look at all three to see how they are doing. Letterman was his usual self...no surprise there. Leno was actually better! He was funnier and more spontaneous. Conan was kind of manic. So, in conclusion Letterman and Conan need writers, Leno does not. I can't see how this will help the writers much.

Hello 2008

I've written a prayer for this year. I won't post it though, since it's personal... :-)

However, I'll say this about 2007...it was a nice year. Business was good. I grew personally, and Spiritually. My kids have all done well. I thank God! I had planned to learn Spanish, and improve my drawing materially. I didn't. Instead I got addicted to reading. I read all the HPs, then the LOR trillogy, next His dark Materials, and I just finished The Pillars of Earth today. There was also my devotional reading that I do in the morning. I enjoyed all these books immensely; however, since it is a new year, I plan to go back to the drawing and Spanish. At least that is my intent! All last year if I found myself out of a book for a couple weeks I had withdrawal symptoms. I ended up back at Borders looking for something new to engage me. So, well see how it goes.
