OK, I put The Count of Mnte Cristo down. It started out great, and I know it's a classic...however...I'm not into it.
SO, Sean and Charlie, I went and got the books you recommended.
Thanks..............and................

Very Important Advice.

Do you plan to get a cell phone family plan? You know, the kind where you pay for one phone and then pay $9.99/month for each additional phone. All calls to each other are free. What a deal right?

Do not fall for this. No matter how responsible your kids are they will lose phones, or break them, (or their friends will), or put them thru the wash. I must be going thru a phone a month. Forget insurance, that's a bigger rip off. The problem is, once your used to having phones for all the kids you hate to give them up, so you just keep shelling out money.

I repeat...DO NOT GET A FAMILY PLAN!!!!!!!
If I could do it again, I'd tell em to get a job and get their own phone plan.

And don't bother telling me to make changes now...your wasting your time....
I just want to pass this along to the cyberworld.

Reads

Right now I am reading "Reaching for The Invisible God" by Yancey. I've never read his work, and I like it. He's a total melancholy, so you have to get by that (like I should talk). Sydney received "The Count of Monte Cristo" as a gift, and I started that as well. With over 1000 pages I said "this better start strong or I'm putting it down". Well, I haven't been disappointed so far.

Anything else I should be reading? Any suggestions? Sean? Charlie? Dad? I know you all read a lot...

Church

We went to chuch this morning. It was the first tme in awhile. I really enjoyed the meeting. The music was great. The band is all volunteer now, not mercenaries. The songs were meaningful, not from the realm of thological wishful thinking. (I know, I am cynical, sorry.) We did not have a teaching, but a sharing time on the subject of God comming thru, and how, and when not. It was moving.

This is it....

Today I am 50. I can't believe it. This birthday has made me think. The last time I had a birthday where I was like this was 25. I remember being bummed out because I thought I'd have to be more mature at age 25.
At 50, I'm not thinking about maturity, I'm thinking about death!! ...JK...

Myst

I am a Myst fan. If anyone is not familiar with the program, it is a story game in which a family has found a way to write in special books, with certain inks to create other dimensions. The game moves between these dimensions (called "ages") as the plot unfolds. The story, graphics, and sound draw you in. I have played (or am playing) every part of the series. It's the kind of thing that I'll start play and loose track of time. A couple hours will pass and I won't notice. Anyhow, I received the last part of the series "End of Ages" last December. The computer we had did not have enough power to run the program. I was bummed, but kept the game and now, after a major upgrade, it's playable! Whoo Hoo!!
Any other Myst fans?
