Apple....this is a bummer.

I asked Apple where I could send a letter about this, and they said they had no idea...What? Can I just send a letter...like to customer service? "There is no way to that, sir." (right)...So, I'll blog about it...even though this is not what a letter would say....maybe I can help somebody...hey, free speech, right? :-)

If you read this...and agree...the point is this...you don't have to get an iphone anymore to get the great smart phone functions. OK, you probably knew that. Good...

But you wouldn't know that if you talked to Apple! They still think they're the only game in town. We have iphones...they give you 90 days tech help...90 days...! That's about enough time to get through the "how to" questions, which we didn't have...If you want longer tech coverage cough up more money (which runs out anyway in a little longer time). The phones are fun (not anymore, actually), but if you have a problem...ANY PROBLEM, APPARENTLY...you are sunk.

We have two phones and they are both sinking fast at this time. Maybe I'll call tech support...oh, wait...they won't help!! :-)
Get this...My iTunes had a problem...they said I didn't have support, (duh) but some "free advice" was given..."reinstall itunes"...WRONG...I only succeeded in loosing all my music...Download it from the phone? No, because itunes is still corrupted...Thanks for nothing...Now that I can't update critical software; the phone will be inoperable in a short time...woo! Is that legal for them to do that? "Critical" software? IDK. Maybe they think I'll get a new phone now....Funny.

My better half just plugged in to update her phone, (just a routine update) and it said she had to restore the phone to factory settings...! I understand this is a problem they have with PC users now...hmmm...someone who has some clout is going to see what they are doing sooner or later, you know...So, reset and then what...? Loose all apps, that's what...OK, they will claim everything is restored if you just have the phone backed up...no wait...because that really gets dicey if you don't have a MAC (no kidding!)...is that also legal? If so, it's still bad business...Now I need a MAC if I want an iphone? Hmmm....How about a DROID? (I bet it works on a PC just fine, and also works on a MAC....IDK, but I'd make that bet...and I'd also bet MAC users are not surprised by this problem I'm having. :-)...
Back to the point..OK, a DROID, or a regular CHEAP internet ready phone will do most of the ipone tricks, and internet access is a third of the price on those plans? Yup.

So, there you go...unbeleiveable, huh...or saddly, maybe it's just a little too BELIEVABLE!

And hey, if anyone knows where to send a letter...let me know...(just kidding, it's probably just a waste of paper...)

I'm done now...
